SPLOST Update - May 2017

SPLOST UPDATE – 5/18/2017

Although Fayette County's Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) won’t go into effect at local retail establishments until July 1 (with the first proceeds coming to the County in September), Peachtree City has already taken the first steps on the path paving portion of our SPLOST program manual.

At their May 18 meeting, the Mayor and Council approved several bids that will equip the new crew that will accomplish the additional path paving included in all six years of Peachtree City’s SPLOST projects.  The bids include an F-750 and F-350 dump truck, root cutter, and asphalt spreader.  The total bid amount was $385,000 (under budget by $73,220).

The City is also hiring now for this crew now, which, along with the new equipment, positions Peachtree City to launch on one of our major SPLOST components right away.   For the complete list of projects, visit www.peachtree-city.org/SPLOST
