Traffic Advisory and Parking Closures for Hometown Holiday

The parking lot at Drake Field parking will be CLOSED at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, and all day Saturday, December 2, to allow for setup and the Hometown Holiday events at City Hall.  The lot will reopen after the event on Saturday night.

The upper parking lot at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater / Shakerag Knoll will also close at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, for setup and remain closed through the event Saturday night.

Fishers Luck – TRAFFIC ADVISORY – Due to the spillway construction safety zone and detour, the golf carts participating in the Luminary Trail on Saturday evening will travel up Fishers Luck and on Bayview to reach City Hall.  Please drive with extra caution in this area Saturday evening, and auto drivers can expect slight delays between 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. 

Weekend Events . . .

Fire Department Christmas Tree Sale ONGOING daily at Fire Station 81 (Paschall Rd at Hwy 74 S).  The department is selling Fraser Firs from 5’ to 10’, varied pricing.  Proceeds will help the Volunteer Firefighters Association provide classes, equipment, and training for the Fire Department. 

Fire Department Santa Run Food & Toy Drive – Weekends December 2 – 17.  Santa will visit Peachtree City neighborhoods on a fire engine, collecting non-perishable foods and toys for those in need this holiday season.  See the schedule at http://www.peachtree-city.org/DocumentCenter/View/6512

Jingle Bell Trail 5K/1-Mile Fun Run - Saturday, December 2, at Peachtree City Elementary School.  Bring your holiday spirit and your running shoes to race alongside Santa and nearly 1000 other local runners! Download an application at http://tinyurl.com/JBT2017App  

Hometown Holiday – Saturday, December 2, 5:00 p.m.  The fun begins at the Frederick Brown, Jr. Amphitheater with musical performances by Dance Contempra, Peachtree Wind Ensemble, Creative Learning Studios, McIntosh High School Singers, and The Cartpath Chorus.  After the show, hop on your golf cart and follow Santa through the Luminary Trail for the lighting of the tree and more holiday fun at City Hall Plaza. 

Fayette Humane Society Christmas Tour - Sunday, December 3, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.  The tour features five beautifully decorated homes, and local food vendors will also be showcasing their talents. Tickets are $30 and are available at the office of Harry Norman Realtors (120 Peachtree East Shopping Center, Peachtree City).  All of the proceeds from this event go to the animals being cared for by the Fayette Humane Society.
