Important Message: All programs are FREE, but require ONE TICKET PER PERSON for each event. All registration is done online. When registering you must have a PINES library card. Any reservation without a valid PINES library card number will automatically be cancelled. NO SHOWS without a 2 hour cancellation notice will be charged a fee of $2 for each unused ticket. This fee will be charged to your library card. DO NOT register a friend unless you are sure they will attend, otherwise YOU will be responsible for the no-show fee. In order to accommodate as many children as possible, there is a limit of one adult ticket per family for each performance. The library tries to schedule a variety of programs that appeal to various ages, however parents are the best judges of appropriateness and appeal to their children. Beatin' Path Rhythm Events Presents: Drumming Up Stories (Drumming)

Drumming Up the Stories is a fun-filled, percussion-loaded learning extravaganza as students are encouraged to draw inspiration from their own environment to express their personal history. This high-energy, rhythm based storytelling experience is guaranteed to spark the imagination and kindle a love of reading.
Lots of audience participation ensures a memorable assembly as students are guided through an array of world folktales with drumming. In this 45-minute assembly program, students learn how the drum was first used to communicate, how music can enhance storytelling and how instruments can be created from ordinary objects.
