Who are we?

We are a volunteer organization and a non-profit corporation [501(c)3] established in 1974 to bring library services to the people of Peachtree City. When the current library was built, we became a Friends group with a mission to promote community support for the Peachtree City Library and to raise money in support of library programs.

What do we do?

We accept donations of gently used books, audio books, DVDs, and music CDs, and conduct a continuous sale of these items at the library. We raise approximately $16,000 each year from these generous donations.

Each year, we provide approximately $5,000 for the Children's Vacation Reading Program as well as more than $5,000 in books for the library. We also provide financial support to other library programs such as monthly local author events.

How can you help?

Join! An individual or family lifetime membership is only $5.00. Patron memberships start at $50.00. Print your membership application (PDF) and join us. Applications are also available at the library, or on request from ptc.library.friends@gmail.com. Members are invited to pre-sales before the public is admitted to our book sales.

Volunteer! Contribute your time and talents to the library and to Friends' programs. Each new volunteer receives a personal orientation tour of the library. Last year, more than 90 volunteers, Friends, and others contributed more than 2,200 hours to the library and its patrons. Volunteer orientations take place the 1st Saturday morning and 3rd Wednesday evening of each month. Sign up for volunteer orientation at the Peachtree City Library Circulation Desk!

Donate! Contribute books CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks to the sales. All donations may be tax deductible. Please read our Donation Policy (PDF) for details on what we can and cannot accept.
