Status: Completed
Project Number: 11
Category: Multi-Use Path System
Location: South Peachtree City
Proposed Project Year: 2020
Original Project Budget: $ 217,000
Project/Goal Description: New path connecting Crosstown Rd. along the HWY 74 S corridor to Peachtree City Athletic Complex (PAC) adjacent to the Flat Creek Nature Area (western side). The path will be constructed using Best Management Practices to minimize disturbance to the nature area.
December 2022 Progress Update: This project was completed in 2020. Public work performed the design, construction, and easement acquisition for this project. In addition, Public Works administered the wetland permitting for this approximately 1.4-mile long path extension. This path is crucial to the connectivity of the path system because it now offers a convenient and safe route for residents of the southern parts of the city to connect to Crosstown and beyond.
SPLOST Actuals Total: $246,469.28
SPLOST Funds Over/Under Budget: $(29,468.28)
Impact Fees Actuals: $158,759.26
Project Total to Date: $405,228.54
The original budget estimates were developed without the benefit of final engineering drawings; therefore, changes had to be made for constructability while restraining overall costs. For example, the amount of rock needed to backfill due to poor soil conditions was much larger than anticipated.
