Does the library take donations?

The Peachtree City Library ONLY accepts donations that are IN GOOD CONDITION. The library accepts hardbacks, paperbacks, audio books, music CD's, and Dvd's.

The Library DOES NOT accept:

Any item that is mildewed, smoky, wet, without a cover, and/or otherwise damaged.
Any item that has been in storage/basements/attics for a significant period of time.
Informational books published before 2015.
Items that are cracked, broken, or missing parts.
Items that are written in or defaced
VHS or Cassettes
Encyclopedia Sets
Textbooks
Magazines

These items can be donated to local charity's and/or churches such as, Better Way Ministries, Clothes Less Traveled, or placed in the green Better World Book Bin at the Keep Peachtree City Beautiful Recycling Center at McIntosh Trail. Proceeds from Better World Books benefit literacy programs through out the United States.

1. How do I get a library card?: Library cards are FREE for Georgia residents. Just bring in documentation of your current Georgia address such as a drivers license, utility bill, lease agreement, or check book along with a current photo ID to obtain a PINES Library card. If your drivers license has your current address that will work perfectly.

3. How long can I borrow books from the library?: You can borrow items for two weeks on most materials. Items can be renewed online at https://gapines.org, over the phone up, or by email or chat at https://peachtree-city.libanswers.com/. Items can be renewed up to two times, unless the item is on hold. You can check out up to 50 items at one time, however, items are .20 per item/per day when brought back past their due date.

4. Do I have to return my books to the Peachtree City Library?: The Peachtree City Library is proud member of the PINES Library Consortium, therefore you can return your items to any PINES library including the Fayette County Library and the Tyrone Public Library. The Peachtree City Library also offers bookdrops near the front entrance for after-hours returns.

5. I think I lost my library card, how do I get a new one?: A Library card is FREE to replace. Once replaced PLEASE bring your card with you every time you visit the library. Unfortunately, we are unable to "look up" library card numbers, so it is imperative that you bring your card with you anytime you need to use the library.

6. Do library cards expire? How do I renew my library card?: Yes, library cards expire on a yearly basis. However, library cards can easily be renewed by visiting any PINES library and presenting a valid photo ID along with a current Georgia address. All fines and fees associated with the card must also be paid upon library card renewal. Unfortunately, library cards cannot be renewed online.

7. Does the library have wi-fi access?: Free wireless internet access is available throughout the Peachtree City Library. The library has two wireless access points "ptclibwifi24G" and "ptclibwifi5G". For security purposes, both access points require a password, which can be obtained at the library.

9. Does the library have wireless printing?

Yes, the library does offer wireless printing. You can now print from any mobile device or personal computer within the library. Click here for full instructions.

10. Do you have computers for the public to use?: Yes, the Peachtree City Library has 17 public computers with access to the internet, library catalog, information databases, and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher 2016. A computer can be reserved with a valid PINES Library Card. Printing and photocopying is also available in black and white for .20 per page. Color printing and copies are .50 per page.

11. Does the library have a Notary?: The Peachtree City Library provides witness and notary services to assist the public with filing documents requiring notarization. The first page of signatures is free, however, each additional signature is $2.00. Peachtree City employees can only notarize and attest to the authenticity of signatures performed in their presence with appropriate photographic identification. Notaries CANNOT notarize wills or power of attorney documents. A Notary is available during open library hours.
